Specs For Sea Of Thieves

Explore a vast ocean where any sail on the horizon could mean a ship filled with real players who may be friends or foes. Form a crew and voyage to treasure-filled islands, face legendary creatures and test your mettle in epic ship battles against other pirates.

You’ll play differently in the early game than in the middle or late game, much like League of Legends. If you’re in the lead, holding your position becomes more important. And if you’re last, taking risks you otherwise wouldn’t take is essential. What’s exciting about Sea of Thieves’ Arena is that these random elements make it possible for anyone to win—skill is important, but it’s crew synergy that really makes a difference.

I look at them as nuisances much like the Skeleton Galleons. Don't engage them in trash talk unless you are willing to back it up in battle, it only encourages them. Also do not be afraid to scuttle your ship to escape overly aggressive players, your ship will respawn a short distance away. When in a small, inexperienced crew it is better to do this than allow them to hound you. If this is still happening (and you aren't on some major voyage, standard ones are not worth fighting over) then quit out of the game and join a new server.

You can’t depend on having only players that have good aim; instead, you need players who can lead and take commands. There’s a delicate balance between seeking out treasure and battling other ships, and plenty of ways to find that balance. A shared-world adventure game that lets you be the pirate you’ve always dreamed of in a world of danger and discovery.

Sea of Thieves is a first-person perspective action-adventure. At the beginning of the game, the player selects their procedurally generated player avatar. The game is set in a shared world, which means groups of players will encounter each other throughout their adventures. Occasionally players may encounter hostile players who may attack them with cannonballs or board their ship.

Engage in intense ship-to-ship battles against other players or fearsome ships of the undead. Or test your crew against other pirates in The Arena, Sea of Thieves’ standalone competitive game mode.

It had partnered with Mongoose Publishing to release a tabletop game titled Sea of Thieves Roleplaying Game in October 2019. Titan Comics debuted a comic series written by Jeremy Whitley in March 2018. Titan Books also worked with Rare to publish an art book named sea of theives Tales from the Sea of Thieves. By yourself, it's either slightly ponderous and peaceful, or frustrating as groups of two-to-four hound you, killing you or sinking your ship just because they can. With random crewmates who silently drop your anchor in the middle of the ocean for no reason, it's obviously a complete wash.

Rare also hosted a competition which tasked fans to create achievements for the game. Several stress tests and betas were released ahead of the game's official launch on 17 March.
